I love historic hotels. I kind of expect some flaws here and there in a building that's been around for a hundred and sixty-six years, but that is not the case with the National Hotel! I don't know that I've ever stayed anywhere that everything was so perfect.
The room was absolutely beautiful. With it's antique King size bed, fluffy down comforters, cozy fireplace, and all the other antique furnishing, I was sorry I didn't have more time to spend in the room!
The bathroom, while blending visually with the period environment of the room, was filled with all the luxury one would expect in a modern 5 star establishment.
The food was wonderful, and all of the staff were friendly and professional, and they even had a young lady singing and playing guitar in the bar/restaurant that evening!
I considered staying in the room until they had to evict me, but decided it would be better to be allowed to come back. Can't wait!!
